Spectacles

With the growth of the contact lens market here in the UK, it's been little surprise that the popularity of spectacles (glasses) has been dipping slightly in recent years.

It is, however, still the case that many of us are happy to choose to wear glasses in preference to contact lenses.

Some advantages that some see in wearing spectacles include protecting the eye against wind-blown materials, plus a perceived lower cost. it's quite feasible that the same glasses prescription could be used over a period of years, while contact lenses involve a more obvious regular ongoing cost.

On the other hand, contacts can be worn easily in the shower or bath and are, of course, rather less obvious to other people - an advantage that many contact lens wearers feel makes them very desirable.

When it comes to making a choice between contact lenses and glasses the important thing is to make a decision based on what is right for you. Think about what you'll be more comfortable wearing and the costs involved before making a decision.

It is, of course possible, to use both - maybe using contact lenses for nights out and glasses for everyday use. The choice is yours.

If you do opt for contacts in preference to glasses then color contact lens options are numerous, allowing you to make a real statement.
